Abstract:
The media and entertainment industry uses a lot of storage and requires both high performance storage systems as well as lots of capacity. The characteristics of storage systems for media and entertainment can be quite different from conventional enterprise storage, depending upon the application. Find out about the uses of various digital storage technologies for content capture, post production, content delivery and archiving and how various storage media, including SSDs, HDDs and magnetic tape; are being used to create, distribute and preserve real time broadcasts and feature films. This presentation is based upon the Coughlin Associates annual Digital Storage in Media and Entertainment Report, including results from the annual survey on digital storage in professional media and entertainment.
